Hi, I should know more tomorrow but my T thinks and I believe too that my inconsistent moods are part of cyclothymia. I don't know about the word manic but I get very elated and life is good, all is well then it doesn't take long before I'm irritated, depressed and angry

My initial treatment has been for major depression/ADD. I know the ADD is right because the adderall works so well. I see my p-doc tomorrow and found out from T last night that she doesn't work with him.

I read somewhere that I should use a mood log and then my T said to use a rating scale -5 to +5. I like that idea. If anyone knows the best way to track moods/cycling, I would love to hear it.

Thanks!

There isn't any right or wrong way to do it; do whatever feels easiest and best to you. The key is to be consistent in writing it down. (I often fall down on that count. :-))

I should point out that you also can do that here on PC, by taking the quizzes once a week and saving your scores. At least that way you know all that info is in a safe environment.

Thanks everyone! I'll check out the link. I saw the p-doc and she agrees that the issues I am having fall into the cyclothymia category.

So, now I'm in information mode...thanks

I have my own tracker also...don't worry to much or spend a lot of time trying to gauge yourself...go with gut and move on...

Dreamrunner...I modified it so it shows 4 weeks on one page...

Thanks for the mood tracker link... that will definitely come in handy! Been noticing lately that when I go to see my T, I can't even remember what my mood/symptoms/etc were like 20 min ago, let alone for the rest of the week! Plus it seems like I've been losing chunks of time... can't account for what I've done for hours at a time... gotta get to the bottom of that. Mood Log
