I have a fantasy like that, too. I try to get myself to believe it, that rather than T not caring about me, she actually cares about me too much, is actually too attached, and that she views this as harmful to me, so that she is dumping me because she believes it is the best thing for me.

I really wish it were as easy to buy into those kinds of fantasies as it is to the other ones, the ones where T has secretly hated me all along, the ones where she is doing this just to see what happens, how I react.
