I discussed this with her tonight. She explained she was trying to be empathic. She admits she probably didn't word what she meant to say very well. She could understand if I was feeling suicidal because she'd possibly feel that way herself under my circumstances, but she wasn't insinuating I should commit suicide.
I explained to her I'm not suicidal. Frustrated about my situation? Yes. It's been cleared up, I'm happy with her explanation of things, and I believe her on the whole to be a good therapist.
