Hmmm seems I have the shortest sessions outta everybody :/

T emailed back. Said my sessions should be 45 min, that's what my insurance pays for. But we can talk about it in our next sessions :/. Well what's there to talk bout if that's what ins pays for?! Lol

I wntd to write some smart *** comment like why then are my sessions 40 damn minutes by the time I get to my CAR???? But I won't. Idk anymore bout this. 1st I felt T doesn't care, now getting shortchanged on sessions I feel like. Like its not enough...before I would have NEVEr gone this often now it not nearly enough?? Wth is going on?!
On the plus side at least he emails me back always. I think he knows maybe if I didn't get a response that would put me over the edge? Lol since lately I seem to be on *** hair away from seriously losing it lol.

Um... I have a unique T and we do 3-4 hour sessions twice a week ( when shes in the country, that is!). But with me having DID, it still doesnt seem that long- there are about 20 of us inside who need a turn to talk to her so if you divide 8 hrs between 20 ppl it isnt that much per alter.
Thanks for this!

60 minutes once a week. Usually run 5-10 minutes over.

50 minutes twice a week, she always ends on time too. Sometimes it feels like I'm in there an eternity and sometimes the time flies by and I wish I could stay longer.

Around 50 to 55 minutes, minus the time when she says hold on Lola I need to get a drink or use the restroom or grab a snack or check my machine ... It's weird like T takes a quick break right before me every time... But then again she practically has to throw me out of the office some days! twice a week every week since August.

50 minutes once a week. I do sometimes feel "cut off" at the end.

But when things are going well, I am often surprised to find there is still twenty minutes left.

Does anyone do 90 min sessions? Or more freq visits? If so did u or T bring it up?
Vanessa, I have done 50 minute sessions and 90 minute sessions. Most recently we have done 90 minute sessions every 3-4 weeks for quite some time, but when we first started therapy, we did 50 minutes once a week (often drifting over). When we went to a lesser frequency, we had some trouble with that, and T suggested we have longer sessions. That has worked great!! Just the last session, at my request, we have returned to having sessions every other week for 50 minutes. I need therapy more frequently at the moment, and going so frequently, I can't afford to pay for 90 minutes each time.

Vanessa, I think 40 minutes sound quite short. I hope your talk with your T on this topic goes well. Since you go 40 minutes twice a week, maybe he would be open to your doing a longer session once a week. It would be the same length of time. The longer sessions can be so great....

45 min, 1x/week but I expect that will go down to every 2 weeks or shift to group therapy pretty soon.

Last time it was only 30 min. I was a little hypomanic so I talked a blue streak and had no issues I wanted to go into. Other than my crushing workload, to which everyone's response is, "get out of here and go do your work."
Thanks for this!

When I first started in the summer once a week for 50-60 minutes. When school started and I went back to work, every 2-3 weeks for 50-60 minutes.

Hey Vanessa!

I am glad that your T replied and I hope something better for you can be arranged or that at least that you get your full 45 minutes from now on!!

I have one 50 minute session per week. My T doesn't offer longer or more frequent sessions. The most we ever run over is 5-10 minutes. I wish my T offered 90 minute sessions.
Thanks for this!

It usually lasts 55 minutes even thought it's suppose to be 50...I recently asked for an extended session and he said he is very much open to them-but couldn't the session that I had requested it for-so maybe in the future I will ask again! T was happy that I asked-and said it showed growth-I would have never requested that in the beginning of therapy : )
