Sometimes "new" is a temporary distraction, temporary 'cure'. Then it becomes familiar...

I am in therapy to learn about me, and for my life to feel better. I want to be able to trust my perceptions, to be spontaneous, to be open and giving, to enjoy life as fully as possible.
I am in therapy because I want to be.

Dear Echoes,

Thank you for your response

Those are outstanding goals...

Has therapy helped?

Are these goals better accomplished alone??????

i'm in therapy 'cause i wanna be as well. it really and truly about self-exploration, dealing with things that are hard to deal with on my own and there is one thing i want most life that i truly feel my therapist is the person who can help me and guide me to help me make my dreams come true.

I'm not sure what you are saying, or asking.

For me, I don't want to work on them alone, and I don't think I could accomplish them alone. Yes, therapy has helped me to understand me, and others, much better. I'm less anxious and I'm more confident, and that helps me in many areas of my life.

I am in therapy because otherwise my pdoc won't prescribe my meds.

Not sure what I'm supposed to get out of therapy or if it's accomplishing anything, but I keep going.

ditto, I like to refer to it as, "a condition of my parole". like when people are getting on my case about s h i t. I told T WAAAY at the beginning that I wanted "to be MORE hankster" - he did not look AT ALL as if he thought that was a good goal. But I think now he is seeing that it is, as we scrape away at the non-hankster crud.
Thanks for this!
