To be heard.

I think I've seen some people in a different light by their off topic posts lol and I say that as a positive.

Why I post here:

To hear the other's perspectives regarding my issues as they arise.
To get support when I am having problems in life and therapy.
To support those who post their own issues and help if I am able.
To support people who are making progress in their own journeys through therapy.
To get support when I'm making progress in therapy.
To attempt to be empathetic to the plight of others.
To hear and be heard.

Sometimes I need support. Sometimes when I'm in a better place I chime in support. Other times I ask a question to get others opinions.
This is my 1st time on any kind of forum and I've found it very helpful so far.

......just passing through, figured this topic applies anywhere

.....the collective hearts and minds of all the members here at pc are greater than my 'only one heart and mind', therefore I feel safe here and a part of something special.

posting on forums helps me to connect with people which I forgot how to do, it helps give me some much needed confidence and the attention I sometimes get makes me feel like a worthwhile person.

I have also had alot of fun here and there with many terrific people.

I think I have mixed thoughts about hijacking. Sometimes a discussion can go off on a tangent and great things can be explored. However other times, maybe for more specific personal issues that people may be posting about, I can get how it is hard to see ones original question getting lost.

So maybe it is not for us to understand why others are bothered by hijacking, but just to accept that they can be and instead focus on why it bothers us ourself that they may be bothered.

I always feel uncomfortable when posts become criticial of other people on here.
Maybe we should not concentrate so much on criticising other peoples position on their journey and concentrate more on why it is a certain way for ourselves.

I myself am of course working on why I feel uncomfortable when others are criticised - I think it is that empathy thing that T goes on about and how actually trying to solve things for others can be self serving in reducing our own feelings of discomfort.....or somethihg like SD

Soup, sometimes I can loose myself in what I can do and expect others to be able to do that too, but thank you for bringing it to my attention, its unfair and not nice to critise others for what ever reason, I need reminders because I do forget.
Thanks for this!

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
