To try and re-establish a connection and some more trust in T I asked her if she could handwrite me a note from her to me. Something that I can look at in between sessions and that will hopefully help us to move on after our recent rupture (?).

T has said it would be a good exercise for us to work on together, she has asked what I would like her to write to me. She's conscious she may get it wrong or not write what I need.

I wondered if any of you lovely PC people have ever asked T for a note and whether your T wrote it with or without your help. Also, if you want to share, what did they write for you?

I asked my T for this exact thing one day. He wasn't wearing his creative T hat that day aparantly, and it didn't go as planned. I couldn't come up with what I wanted, and he wasn't to helpful. I settled for him writing out a breathing technique for me to use when I am triggered. It helps seeing it spelled out in HIS handwritting (as horrible as it is). He got it wrong per say, but I carry it with me in my jacket every day. When I am desperate to re-connect, because I think he has abandoned me...reading "is what your thinking the reality of the situation?" in his writing usually calms me a bit. Good luck! I hope your T, gets it better than mine did.

T used to write notes on the tear off daily calendar on her desk. Things like "i'll be here for you" & little things like that, or draw little pictures

i never asked my T to write a not but once when i was having a really hard time keeping things in control at work she wrote a not that said "don't let the crazy part be in control!" i took it and hung it at work so i could constantly be reminded that if i was going to loose it that i needed to wait until i was no around customers or to co in my car or something.

LOL - There's the slogan for our first Psycho Central tshirts or whatever - that is absolutely a great saying!!! It would work for Congress, too! Families, companies,...

I didn't exactly ask for one, but she wrote me a note one time before I left a really difficult session. She told me how much she appreciated my hard work and the email I sent her telling her how much she has helped me. This was year ago. I still have the note and look at it from time to time. It is weird, but it helps me to feel connected to her.

See, the thing I can't get my head around is that I really wanted it to be something from 'her' to me, something sort of heartfelt that would surely mean something to me but the working on it together doesn't quite feel right. If I have to tell her what I need and want her to write then it's not from her anymore

I used to get hand-written receipts from T, before we went electronic.
I didn't particularly cherish those!

But she sometimes writes appointment dates on the back of a business card.

She has written my name on copies of things she's wanted me to read. I wish I had something more, but I've never asked.

I have never even seen my T's handwriting. A note isn't something I would want right now though it might be nice to have something handwritten if I am missing him, but I don't think I could ever get the guts to ask even if I really wanted it.

I'd never really thought about having something hand written from t, but I would never be brave enough to ask for one. Sometimes I ask t for an appointment card (even though I write the appointment in my calendar when we schedule!) just so I can look at it sometimes during the week and reassure myself that its not that long until my next session.

When I was going through a rough time my t gave me a flash card about the size of a hand. She wrote
Crazy = Dorrington ( local locked psych ward)
I have the right to be here

It's just a little reminder not a story and it's small enough carry around ( but its been stuck on my wall for about 10months
