Yes, the T. I see has recommended meds for me.....
and referred me to a specialist in that field.

Does your T recommend meds?

My T is against meds, for the most part. For the first couple years that I was in therapy, he kept encouraging me to not take anti-depressants as he felt that it was contributing to suppressing my feelings and for allowing me to tolerate mistreatment. And I know he was right, to a degree.

Then, during my bouts of severe depression, he actually called a psychiatrist while I was in his office to get me an immediate appt. as he felt that I needed an increase in my dosage....Go figure.

I haven't been in that deep, dark place for a while....and when my script ran out several months ago and I had trouble getting it refilled, I ended up stopping the anti-depressants.....and have been off them ever since.

Lately, I have been finding myself wanting to be numb again....so I am considering going back on the meds. NOT what he'd want to hear at all.....

So, yeah....My T isn't big on the meds unless absolutely necessary...

My therapist is my old psychiatrist, but she is quite conservative with meds. Nevertheless, she prescribed me meds when I needed them.

There is a couple's counselor I see with my bf. He is a clinical psychologist. He is quite against 'labels', psychiatry, and meds. But whatever. I'm there for couple's counselling, not individual counselling, so it doesn't bother me.
