your t gets the award for t of the month. hands down.
this past week when i spoke with mine about being wary of touch she said i could come in each week & touch her...& hug her if i wanted to at the beginning of session & at the end..or if that was too much i could just poke her...what ever it took...we could work up to touch. she was ok with just being poked. i'm not there yet..but i can just see me standing there poking her like an obnoxious kid..going "is this ok? like this? or this?" this from a t who doesn;t do touch with her other patients.... |

My problem was the angling, and I didn't believe them where it read that the applicator came off after it was inserted. LOL. I'm an idiot.

Improving, I also had tears in my eyes while reading your post. I'm sorry for all the pain you endured. Your T didn't win "T of the month" but T of the century!!

Improving, I'm not going to lie; this has to be the loveliest, sweetest, and most heartwarming post, EVER. I'm going to read your post in therapy tomorrow. You've given me a HUGE boost of courage. You are an inspiration, and I wish I could just hug you, right now. Thank you so much for sharing.

Your T is a keeper, I pictured my xT doing that....lol , no way would she have done that! I wore tampons from day one. I was 16 and I went to the store bought a box and read the directions. Took me like 5 try's but I got it! My mom bought a box of pads when I was 11 and put them in the bathroom and told me they were there when I needed them. That was my talk, when I did start my mother told everyone, including all my 7 siblings and they were cruel about it, calling me names and poking fun at me. I hated that she had to tell everyone everything, so I told her nothing.

Heh, not an idiot, just uninformed (I was too). Tampons are bizarre if you really think about them. Which I don't.

Wow, Improving, thanks so much for sharing that! From another PC'er who had no proper introduction into the issue of mentruation, I can appreciate how accepted and loved you felt when your therapist recognized your need and answered the call! Both you and your therapist RULE! Her for giving you what you missed, and you for letting us all know that there are other women just like ourselves who missed out as young girls.

I DID cry while reading this. Similar phobias here, similar aversion to "tests" and using tampons. Had an internal ultrasound once and I cried the whole time. The nurses just asked why my dr. didn't give me sedatives.
I know what this feels like. I am so happy you are getting the care you deserve. |

Oh my goodness I love PC right now. Well always actually, but especially right now.
I came here not really expecting a response, just because there was nowhere else in the world I could say 'T bought me tampons'. I hesitated as I wrote out the background- wondering if it was TMI, feeling guilty at making such heavy weather of something that wasn't 'that' sad, when I knew that most people here experienced so much worse as children. I decided to leave it in as a way of acting opposite to shame. I got bogged down with work for a few days, and came back to find 40 people had read it and supported me and appreciated my T and even sent me tampon top tips! Now I'm crying. This is such a very special place. Thank you all ![]() |
