I just have to say that my T is amazing, she did something for me today that I never would have thought she would do. Last week in my session we had talked about how I'm going to a training in a few weeks at a mental hospital that I was once a patient at. She asked if I have driven by the hospital since I was there and I told her no and that I'm scared. She mentioned that it would be great if she could take me there for some exposure therapy but didn't think it would be allowed. So I didn't think anything of it because I figured it wouldn't happen.

Well today at my appt she asked if I am still going to the training in a few weeks and I told her yes. She said she talked to her supervisor and said we could do it as long as we drove separate cars. She stood up and said let's go, and we each got in our own cars and I followed her to the hospital. When we got there she asked how I was doing and we walked around on the grounds for a bit outside of the hospital. I got really anxious throughout the time we were there but she just kept telling me to take a deep breath and told me that I am a different person now and I'm not that girl anymore.

We went back to her office after that and I shed a few tears and told her that it brought up a lot of memories. I thanked her for going with me and she said I did a great job and gave me a hug.

Honestly I'm really shocked that she went with me but I'm really glad we did this because when I go to the training I won't be as anxious. Today was the moment that I realized how amazing my T is and how lucky I am to have her in my life right now.

Wow, sounds like a great session! I am glad your T was willing to do something like that with you!

Thanks! It was one of the best sessions I've had in a while.

Thanks! It was definitely hard but I'm proud of my self for doing it because I have a lot of painful memories of being there.

I wasn't quite sure either, but I guess maybe they're not supposed to transport clients in their cars.

I'm glad your T was so willing to do so as to consult her supervisor to clear it. It is a very sweet and healing thing for her to do for you, Dani!

Is this in the US? If she drove you and had an accident, you might sue the clinic.

By the way, congratulations on your engagement!

Yes I'm very glad she sought the advice of her supervisor because I wouldn't want her to get in any trouble. I'm also glad her supervisor agreed that it would be an important thing for us to do.

Yeah I'm in the US, and I can see your point, there are a lot of issues that can arise if she had driven me in her own car.

Thanks for the congrats, I'm getting so nervous! The wedding is on the 14th so it's coming up quick. I made sure that I could get in to see my T next week because I told her I'm just a bundle of nerves right now.
