My relationship with my current t may be coming to an end. I have an appointment with a new t for an assessment to see if a new approach may help move forward. Can anyone help me with what kind of questions i should ask the new t to see if we could work together

Thanks everyone

Perhaps come up with a list of what you want in a therapist (things like ability to email between sessions, availability to schedule extra appts if necessary, someone who is very warm, etc.) and what you want to work on (abuse, depression, day-to-day probs, etc.) and then check these things out with her/him. My requirements include ability to email, possibility to occasionally be called back, someone who is very warm (have to guage this myself), a female with lots of experience (and in particular with clients who have similar issues to mine). Good luck!
Thanks for this!

How well do you understand the "new approach"? Think of what didn't work with the old approach (don't know why you are coming to an end with the old T) and formulate questions that would ask about what you found unsatisfactory.

Attitude to email is something you should find out right at the start.

Otherwise it leads to all sorts of friction later.
