I've mentioned before that one of the things I do with t is dreamwork. It's so fascinating especially when you start seeing like a common thread or something weaving through a lot of your dreams over time. I've wished lately though that I could draw, even a little bit, because some of the things in my dreams are SO hard to explain with words, even to t who is really intuitive about stuff like this. I guess I feel like we'd be able to get even more meaning out of some of the dream images, if I could draw them instead of just talk about them. But then, at the same time, it seems like describing them with words evokes more of the feelings about the images or something. I dunno. I'm rambling again aren't I. Just in a rambling kinda mood lately I guess.

Thanks for this!

I actually can't draw....but I began to write a book....and after a while, I realized that some things needed to have images....So I hired an illustrator, provided him with exact details of what I wanted to see...and he created the drawings. Not the same, but very powerful....

Great idea...I'm going to try it...I certainly have a lot of dreams and usually strange ones at that!

I've always had very vivid dreams, whether they're scary, strange, happy, whatever. They've always been so very intense that I just knew they were trying to "tell" me something so I'm really loving this part of therapy learning what my psyche is trying to tell me through dream images. I am going to think about hiring someone to draw some of the things for me. That's a great idea!

I can draw pretty well, but the idea of trying to draw my dreams seems difficult to me.. Perhaps I could capture an odd image, but it would be static.. I think words can better convey how a dream unfolds.. to me anyway.. but I know what you mean about dreams being hard to describe - I find sometimes with dreams that the most vivid thing is how it made me feel, but that the feeling often isn't easy to give a name to. Often I will write down my dreams, but when I reread them later, I'm like 'I don't remember this?' and then it'll twig, but the way I wrote it makes it seem completely different from how it was in my mind... Also, when dreams are happening they make sense, but when I try to write about them I'm like 'wait, what?!' because things don't follow or tie together.. sometimes someone in the dream can represent more than one person. Sometimes I can be younger/older all at once. Sometimes my mind pieces together different locations to make nonsensical hybrid settings.. And sometimes there are just massive plot holes..!

I had a weird bug on a screen door that wouldn't leave me alone that I drew once and it helped me get rid of it. Was fun to do, too.
