This may not help you at all, but I've been fired 3 times in thirty years of working. Each time, I was really ill-suited for the job and I was planning or contemplating leaving it. Each time, I found something better. I firmly believe that getting fired really meant that I was supposed to be going down a different path. And I did. For of those jobs, if I hadn't been fired I never would have met my wife.

You know that whole window shut, door open truism? It does really work. There may be all kinds of opportunities ahead because you've disconnected from this job that may have been holding you back.
Pretty much the same goes for me, except I don't think I've ever met LMTL's wife But getting fired has ALWAYS, every time, been the best thing that ever happened to me. First time it happened, my next job I doubled my salary. True, I was woefully underpaid at the previous job, but still! So... welcome to the club.

you dont need that job anyways. You know why? because you are going to be an AMAZING EMT, and then an AMAZING paramedic(i believe you said you where going on to paramedic school right?). They were lucky to have you, and it is their loss.
Thanks for this!

((((Lost)))) so sorry you lost your job. Some positives......
1. It sounds like you will be able to get unemployment.
2. You already have a new career in the works to be an EMT.

I know it is hard to lose your job. My husband was laid off a couple years ago and we were scared about what was going to happen to us financially (we have two young children). As luck would have it he ended up finding a dream job that he didn't even know was a possibility. He went from a stressful position at a company that didn't appreciate him to working for someone who loves his work and appreciates him.

There are people out there who are looking to employ someone like you it's just a matter of you finding each other.

One door closes and another door will eventually open.

Many hugs!
Thanks for this!

Thanks for all the wonderful support guys. I thought I was going to self destruct into nothing today but the combined constant support I received from here and T it kept me stable and safe and I can't tell you guys much I appreciate it. T told me its okay to be upset, and I am, just not to be upset with myself because it's not my fault.

Anyway thanks so much everyone!

I am so, so sorry. I was let go from my job three years ago. Supposedly a 'layoff,' but it felt like a firing because they chose me and not others to be laid off.

It sounds like you'll qualify for unemployment. Get that going right away!

I am so glad to read that you are close to being an EMT - that can open lots of doors for you, and you very well may soon be in a job that you love.

Your therapist sounds amazing. I'm so glad he came through for you. Sometimes wonderful things pop out from the ashes :-)

Take care of yourself.

my experience is that the state will side with the terminated employee....so get your unemployment started....they will have a phone hearing if they want to dispute but trust me....States on your side at least in my experience.

man do you sound clear...in your asking for help, in your long term thinking and finding out where you stand with regard to claims and u.e. benefits.

Your employer was stupid to cut you from the group. Onwards...and keep posting here. We support your next steps, which will lead higher and father than you would have gone with those other numb-nuts.

Blessings,

MCL
