I would say the fact that she isn't a licensed therapist is rather telling. I'm not sure is being more exploited, her or the men she "works" with. Just creepy.

I couldn't agree more, Snuffleupagus. I have no problem with nudity. I've been to a nude spa, a nude women's circle, etc. I think the human body is beautiful, that there are ways to be nude without creating a sexual environment, and that if our culture didn't create such strong taboos around nudity, that there would be fewer sexual hang-ups/problems, body insecurity issues, and so forth. Before reading the article, I was rather intrigued to see if there was in fact a way to offer a legitimate kind of nude therapy. Nope!

I read both links and, I have to say, this Naked "Therapist" is a crock of *****. First off, there's a difference between the words "naked" and "nude." "Naked" carries sexual connotations that "nude" does not. Moreover, by stating very clearly that she ONLY sees male clients-- and explaining her whole approach to therapy via "male desire"-- she is quite explicitly offering a sexualized service. She is advertising her own sex appeal and offering her own naked body as a fetish object to lonely men with porn addictions. She is FEEDING their addiction rather than offering them therapy to OVERCOME their addiction. Calling herself a therapist is deceptive, irresponsible and, potentially, dangerous. She is also opening herself up to the possibility of being stalked, sexually assaulted, or worse. She is intentionally attracting men with sexual addictions and excellent computer skills-- who are probably smart enough to figure out where she lives-- and who may be unbalanced enough to actually go and find her!

What she is doing should really be illegal, in my opinion. (And this is coming from someone who thinks prostitution and marijuana should be legalized.) Just to clarify, I do not engage in prostitution nor do I smoke pot; however, I think legalizing them and having the state oversee them would better protect those who do.

I am still puzzled at why Doc John would put her article on here.

It is a crock of bull, just another excuse at a porn site. Just call it what it is, internet porn. Why call it therapy? She only takes male clients because she gets off on exciting males...nothing wrong with that, just admit it.

Yes, I'd really love to hear his response to this!!! The more I'm reading and thinking about it, the more sick/disgusted I'm starting to feel.. we definitely shouldn't be promoting this shameful excuse for therapy to people! If he doesn't come across this thread, maybe we should gently prod him (with scratchy, pointy twigs) in our direction!

I didn't get that she restricts herself to male clients, just that that is what her current clientele happens to be. And she's "gathering research for her dissertation on naked therapy" -- hmm... what kinda place does THAT line work in?

i have yet to read the articles but i had a really great session with t last night. he is male and i am female. and a really appreciate the fact that we both had clothes on...

weird. but a part of me in the back of my (sick) mind is laughing. kinda like "are you f***ing kidding me??"

If you are able to be relaxed about it, I think that being naked can bring out greater honesty and make it easier to talk about things. I don't think I'd ever contemplate naked therapy, but the idea doesn't gross me out either.

I really, really do not want to see my T naked. I mean, he's wonderful and all, but ew. It would be kind of like seeing my father naked. Not that I'm projecting my father onto T, of course.

And there's not a snowball's chance in a very hot place that he'll ever see me naked. Nope. Not gonna happen.

She's only 24, the initial session is $150, sessions start with a video chat, moves to Skype, and then to in-person for some. She has some female clients too, just that most are male; at $150 a session (I assume insurance doesn't pay :-) and I think I read she has 24 clients; I'll take $3600 a week to work online/low overhead, don't even have to buy special clothes

I am a practicing nudist, being a nudist has nothing to do with sex. It's a feeling of freedom. It's also a great way to save on A/C bill LOL. Having revealed that, I might have trouble talking about some phsycological issues with a therapist male or female while either of us were naked. As long as neither one is being sexually gratified during the sessions and progress is made whats the problem. Porn is in the eye of the beholder, there are people that find some weird things sexually arousing does that make it porn. A balloon popping causes orgasms in some people, should balloons be sold over the counter only. Being naked during therapy may neutralize some inadaquacies in some and allow them to open up more than when clothed. Don't discard new ideas so readily, think back and remember how many things that were labeled fads and fleeting ideas and are now an intergral part of society. I'm just saying...
