Okay, I had round two of T1 & T2 appointments.
T1 appointment was a disaster. We caught up about my day to day stuff over the course of the week. But I was hitting a wall again. She said, "Are we talking about the wrong things right now or is this really all there is to talk about?" Very out of the norm for her, but a little late. I shrugged and said "I can't think of anything" (lies). We don't meet again for a month. T2 appointment. I was hestitant but I think it went well. We touched on an issue that T1 was afraid to get into. T2 totally laughed and talked and shared all sort of theories with me and seemed so present. He really remembered a lot about me from the previous session and shared with me everything that he was thinking. He also told me that I seemed saintly and needed to just go ahead confess things -- unless I was actually saintly, because then that's okay too! lol I told him I'm not saintly, of course! It was much easier to talk to T2 because he was so open. He's not perfect, I'm sure, but I did leave this session feeling HOPEful. How refreshing. It is hard to commit to T2, though, because that would mean saying goodbye to T1. I think he may help me with that too. I want to meet with him again and see how it goes. I'm going to call tomorrow to schedule another appointment. |

I'm so glad that you connected with T2. It makes all the difference.
When I started seeing T2, we spent a lot of the first month or two talking about dealing with my termination with T1. So, I bet anything he'll be happy to help you sort out your experience with T1 and terminating with her. |

I am glad the second therapist seemed to help. Could you try telling the first therapist about the differences to see if she can adjust if you want to try to stay with her?
