I'm on my couch, watching Criminal Minds. The kitten is under the couch, playing with my foot, because he's wacky and, well, a kitten.

How do you make almond milk? I've only ever bought it in a carton.

Hi Fish. Welcome.
TTGB
Everyone else here - Hi!

I am on my couch with a massive stack of books. I am taking an online writing class and am a wee bit behind where I should be. Didn't look far enough ahead at the assignments to realize this one required research beyond the internet. Whoops. Due on Thursday. Double Whoops. So I hot-footed it to the library before it closed and checked out this very random assortment of books: history of the 1940s-60s, New York travel guide, bead and breakfast, guides to 20th Century American history, books with Victorian house plans in them. The librarian gave me a bit of an odd look.

Dinner here was caprese salad and boiled potatoes with a tiny bit of butter. I am having some New Glarus Tart for dessert.

Sconnie -it sounds like a complex assignment.

Granite-I saw a preview for the show craft wars and totally thought of you.

I'm watching Big Bang Theory and just got done driving my T crazy with text messages.

And now it's just about time for bed. I don't have to be at work till 9am tomorrow which is 2 hours later than my regular time. Cool. Sleep in.

A sobering thought...

Somewhere out there, there really is a woman called Debbie Downer.
I wonder how she feels?

Turned out to not be too bad. We had to write about the reserach "process" and didn't have to present our actual research. So I wrote about how I selected books that had lots of pictures because I was struggling with how to visualize the character and her house.

Now it is time for bed. Loooooong work day tomorrow (8am-9pm) with a t session in the middle of it. I haven't even thought about the sesion really! Ahhhh!

One time I made the mistake of using that phrase with a woman at church...turned out her name was Debbie (different last name) but she still didn't like it. Whoops. I always knew her as Mrs. ____. Never crossed my mind until after it came out of my mouth.

I make almond milk by soakin a cup of almond in water overnight. Then draining the soaking water and blending the almonds in three cups of water and straining through cheesecloth. I mix the pulp in other things or add some back into the liquid if using it for smoothies.
Thanks for this!

FWIW, this is something I can relate to all too well. The email freeze, that is - I'm a grammar junkie too but that is not a problem for me... Good job sending it in the end.

There was a documentary on the telly recently by somebody called Harry Potter. I could *not* take it seriously!

G'morning all.

((TTGB)) so sorry
Hey Fish Sandwich my fellow psychiatric survivor, haven't talked with you in a while...nice to see you on this board.

I finally got a new phone after our 3 day puppy guest chewed up my old one, and I splurged and got the iphone 4s. My daughter programed Siri to call me dipshit . When I ask her something like "Call husband" She says "Sure Dipshit, I will call FIRSTNAME LASTNAME now." Priceless.

My vegan breakfast: Ezekiel toast with a fruit sauce made from juicer pulp...strawberry, carrot, kiwi, ginger, and a protein shake made with almond milk, soft tofu, bananas and a dab of nut butter.

Today's menu:
Soy milk iced latte and fridge oatmeal with mango.
Snack: walnuts and craisins
Lunch: caprese salad and some whole wheat toast
Dinner: Subway (I have to go to a board meeting at work until 9pm. Usually I go to Culvers (aka hamburger and fried) but in the spirit of healthy eating Subway it is) Plus it's next to t's office.

T this afternoon. I don't have much in my journal to work from and t has told me I need to "drive" the sessions now. So.....

I'm about to make lunch - chicken salad with lettuce and tomatoes and peppers and cucumber and maize. Dealing with a bit of anxiety today, had a minor panic attack in the store, so after lunch I'll go outside for a while, I think, and read. It's the first sunny day for ages, and I have quite a bit of work related reading to do, so I think that will be a good thing for me to do.
