I spent yrs going without help. Going from one suicide attempt to another, seeing random psychs who didn't have a clue and turning me loose in a couple of weeks. It wasn't until I entered treatment, a prog run by local Healy authority at the time that I was recommended to the T I see now. It was a very long journey with lots of casualtys along the way. Are there any progs run in your local area?

Some links for US residents to find low cost/free care:

Find a Health Center - http://findahealthcenter.hrsa.gov/Search_HCC.aspx
NAMI - http://www.nami.org/Template.cfm?section=Find_Support
Free Clinic Finder - http://www.pparx.org/en/prescription..._clinic_finder
Where To Find Care - http://www.wheretofindcare.com/Find/...thCenters.aspx

Other alternatives are colleges and crisis lines.

I hope this gives you some ideas, I am routing for you.

Are you over 18 years old? If so, what you talk about with a counselor is confidential and your parents are not allowed to know what you talk about unless you are at harm to yourself.

You can talk to, chat with, or text with trained listeners confidentially on a listening line. For example:

There are listening centers specifically for teenagers. For example:

Quote:

https://teenlineonline.org/about/ (talk or text)

http://www.contactwecare.org/Teens.htm (Text service is for teens only, scroll down)
You could google to find a center close to you, or to find a center not close to you.

You can always reach a trained listener at 1-800-273-TALK.
