Okay I was looking for creative ideas last week and I finally came up with something. On the front is pictures I had taken around the city, the one of the skyline I took on one of our walks. The card is an appointment card that he gave me in the begining of therapy to remind me he wasnt going to abandon me. (I erased where his name is) On the back I wrote him everything I was thankful for starting with A going all the way to Z. Yes I cheated on X.

I want him to know how thankful I am for everything we have been through. He has stuck through a lot with me and has supported and been patient with me the entire way. I know I have a keeper, and I want him to know that I know that.

Problem is I'm scared to give it too him. Should I? I'm going to take a vote on here, and go by that.

I voted no, only because I know that when I've wanted to do something similar, I've always been so thankful that I didn't do it later on in therapy.
Thanks for this!

The only reason I can see why you might not want to give it to him is if you think you might miss having the card he gave you. Other than that, I definitely think you should. Those are great pictures.
Thanks for this!

I think it's important he get the card back. I have to trust his actions. No email or card can substitute learning that lesson.

I am so happy for you. That is AWESOME. And remember, it's ok if you don't constantly feel that way. It will probably come and go - all of my new ways of thinking tend to do that. I've just started riding it out.

I am sitting here smiling for you. It sure beats crying about my termination on Monday. So you have helped me too.
Thanks for this!

I would! I once took a well known love poem (might have been one of Shakespeare's sonnets, something along those lines/that era) and wrote a corresponding poem "across" from it but personal about therapy with my T. I kept the same cadence and some of the same words but replaced others to personalize it, etc.

i voted yes to give it to him. i am seeing a different t for years now and actually work professionally with my first t who did so much and means the world to me. i have never told him how much he helped me and how much i trusted him and appreciated him. hes the one who changed my life. i finally got brave enough to tell him how much i appreciate him thru a drunk texting bout with him after a case we worked on. it was a very special few lines i will always treasure and never regret.

Because later I realized that I was sensationalizing things and I felt different later on. It was a relief I made the choice I did. Just my experience though.

Great shots you've taken of the city too! I love them. T would be crazy not to love having that as a show of appreciation.
Thanks for this!

I went to staples and got it laminated that way nothing would happen to it. It looks nice now, and I can never ask for my card back now.

I hope he likes it. I really really do. I'm scared to give it to him, and I want to give it to him when I leave, BUT at the same time I want to see his reaction.
