I last saw my T - mid July, and had an appointment scheduled with her for the 2'nd last week of July, but I had to cancel that appointmnt because I was up to my eyeballs in packing to finish my move. She then offered me an appintment Aug. 2'nd but I couldn't take it as I already had an appointment with my pdoc during the time slot she offered. Now she's going out of town on vacation for 2 weeks, so I won't see her until Aug. 22'nd.

That seems so far away. And I'm feeling some abandonment issues which I know are entirely my issue because she didn't get back to me right away when I had to cancel my appointment at the end of July.

And I hate that I feel so vulnerable and needy for missing T.

No fair counting what has already been passed! You have two weeks until you see your T. The only thing the past is good for is encouraging the present; you did great for 5 weeks already, packed to move, worked hard with pdoc, etc., so 2 weeks could be easier.

I'm sorry you are feeling abandoned and uncertain though. Can you imagine what it will be like after you have seen her? You have anything exciting planned for September? Did you already move or when are you moving? When I terminated with T, I was moving and had a trip to Europe planned and in the works from the previous year, etc. so missing T wasn't really an option for 5-6 months and by then, it was greatly lessened as I had "new" problems from having moved after 20 years living where I had before.

You have done it. You have made it. You survived the weeks that have passed. Now you have 2 weeks left. Take it one day at a time. Each day past is a day of success and a day closer to your visit. The strength we have to help ourselves often surprises us. We are capable of more then we give ourselves credit for. You deserve a pat on the back. You have made it this far. Your T should be proud of you to. I know when you get back to your appointment you will have a sigh of relief and the knowledge that you are capable. Good luck in the coming days. Don't forget we are all here if you need to talk.

That's a difficult situation to be in, and there's no need for you to feel guilty about it. I know how hard is! It probably doesn't make it easier at all that your break was prolonged a couple of more weeks... and then another couple of weeks. I imagine that that may have added to the feeling of insecurity and abandonment.

that's a massive gap between sessions ... i'm glad you are getting near the end of it and will see T again soon; how are you coping with things meanwhile?

I'm currently on a 4 week break, T is on vacation. 1 week left until I see him.

7 weeks is long, but you've done so well! I know how it feels, hang in there. I hope It goes by fast for you.
