I broke my ankle but I always remove my shoes so I can put my feet on the couch. With my busted ankle, its hard to get my shoes back on...I didn't even have to ask for help, she just dropped to one knee in front of me and put my shoe on for me. She extended her hand to help me up off the couch. She helped me adjust the ice packs I wrapped around my ankle. She held my bag and helped me down the steps. I know these are such simple things but they mean a lot to me... she just makes me feel cared for.

It's nice to know there is one person in the world you can rely on, isn't it!

That kind of caring.. those seemingly little things, when part of the therapeutic relationship ... can be deeply powerful healing experiences that stay with us forever. I wonder if they realize that? experiences
