I think it's perfectly fine to have "extra " sessions with your therapist. I don't ask for them too often but when I do my therapist is always accomadating. Today I had one with her because of my vacation beginning tomorrow and feeling terrified of flying. She was very helpful is calming my fears. I asked her in a phone message before the session if she could write out some positive messages for me to have with me on the plane to read when I am struggling and she wrote a wonderful letter for me. She is the best!
