Let's use this as a place to post positive and uplifting thoughts, ideas and videos so we can find them in one place when we need them! MAybe thi will come in usefu when we have those times when or inds just ruminate and we can't stop them.

This video comes at us directly from Fixated last post. She was feeling bad about sending it to her T. I say- it was an excellent find and very uplifting- don't worry about your T Fixated- T will love it too!

get ready to dance!

(please ignore the political ad in the beginning- not much we can do about that!)
Thanks for this!

My T sent this to me earlier this week. It was so appropriate for what I am facing right now:

“When the unexpected and inconceivable intrudes on your life deal with life’s actual events and do not obsess about the perceived eventualities.”

Thanks for this!

I always find this Enya song from Lord of the Rings comforting. My t often says her wish for me is that I find more joy in my life. For some reason, this reminds me of t's words - especially on rough days.

I'd never heard this before, but this girl has such a beautiful clear sound and the song, a haunting melody. Loved it!

Thanks Sconnie!

I'm a fan of Enya, too. This song has particular meaning to me - it's a Christmas song but that's not the reason. It kind of symbolises what I hope to achieve through therapy - I usually listen to it on the bus on my way to T.

I hope I did this right. It's about an Olympic runner, with Josh Groban singing "You Raise Me Up". It's got a brief religious tone but it will make you cry nevertheless. It's inspirational and emotional.

back in the olden days when I was in college, I listened to Enya every night as I went to sleep. Her voice is so beautiful and haunting that I was able to feel soothed enough to sleep.

My yellow lab puppy, "Buddy". He is awesome! He is loving and fun and happy. He reminds me of my beloved black lab "Chopin" who passed away several years ago. I miss Chopin, but now I feel I have him back in Buddy.

Things that make you feel better

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

A beach or lake makes me feel better. I don't know how to post images or I'd put a beautiful beach photo right here!

I've literately listened to this song over 100x the last two days because it makes me feel better no matter what.

I love listening to the surf and feeling it in my ears by laying my head on the sand. My breath attunes to its rhythm.

I remember telling a a hippie chick friend this, and she said, "Oh, it's all the negative ions from the salt water, man." So I always think of that and laugh. (She also referred to her nervous breakdown as a "nervy b" which I still think is one of the most hilarious minimizations of tragedy ever.)
