Stopdog, I have wanted to ask for a long time now. You seem to really hate therapists. I don't understand why you go? Not said as criticism, just true curiosity. I just know that I wouldn't want to go to therapy if I felt so negatively toward my therapist and therapists in general.

I don't want to go and I certainly do not enjoy it. I choose to go because there may be a piece of information I do not have that a therapist does and then I can apply that piece of information to my situation. To me it is like any other horrible thing that one endures in order to have something else one wants.

True. I don't like going to the dentist, but I still go because I want to have nice teeth.

thats one way of looking at it, I guess.

I think maybe I agree. I don't want to bond to my dentist same as I don't want to bond to my T. I have a session scheduled in 45 minutes. I'm not sure I'm going to go. Maybe I'm done torturing myself.

The state where I live requires the consent of all parties for a conversation to be recorded. Given the potential legal ramifications, I wouldn't record my sessions unless T knew I was doing it. Since we'd both know, though, I think it's likely that the nature of the session would change.

I would like to see my T's notes, though. I find it curious the times he writes things down.
