Hi Lucy,

Welcome to PC. We're glad you found us.

Hang on. This week will be over before you know it. Try to find something to take your mind off it. Can you do puzzles, read, take a walk, or watch a movie or TV?

Cheers,

January

Thanks Jan :0)

I am trying to keep busy, the thing that has surprised me is the strength of my feelings. I have had psychotherapy before although rather unsuccessfully on the NHS and now i see someone privately, Before i never felt like this i feel so lost he has had hols before but it has only been this time that i have felt so alone.

Dear Lucinda,

I feel your pain. I, too, feel very lonely..I feel I have to be out in public all day as I feel less lonely that way. We all have different ways of coping..your T saying you are angry when instead you feel lost, let him no he is wrong, stand up for what you really feel. As far as feeling something you have never felt before, that is scary...the whole unpredictability of mental illness is perhaps the hardest part of it. Feel free to PM me, I care and we all care...

Lucina,

My T is away alos. Can you keep busy. Maybe take extra time to look after yourself like cuddling down with a blanket?

Maybe you could write your T a letter and let him know how this week has been for you.

I know its hard but the week will pass.

Lots of love

Welcome T on hols

I sometimes have this problem too so what I do is think about my sessions and develop a project around an issue discussed during therapy and then It doesnt feel too bad with the therapist gone. When my last therapist found out I have this problem she would photocopy work for me to do while she was gone. That helped alot too.
