When are you seeing your T? Countdown.....

Hello everyone, just wanted to start a supportive thread for when everyone is seeing their therapist. Usually I don't think about it, but when it comes close to the time when I am seeing him I get excited and can't wait.

So I just wanted to start a countdown kind of thread. You can post every day, or every hour of before you see your T to get the suspenseful feelings out of you if you have them.

I am seeing my T in 5 hours and the suspense is killing me!

Tomorrow at 5:00 pacific time

It's her birthday so we are celebrating and I am so excited!!!!!!!

It's also the last time together until the 15th when she comes back (surgery) so I am really anxious and on edge. But I'm trying to not let it ruin the birthdayness

At first, I was taken aback or confused when I saw this thread but then I thought about how important the therapist can be to me if we have good chemistry and when I'm not having much social interaction in general, like now.

If I'm going to one I like, I catch myself thinking about him or her at odd times during the day, thoughts of him or her "having my back" and feeling sort of a sense of accountability to them about whatever I am doing or struggling with at that time. "Therapist channeling."

I wonder if this is partly because so few humans are willing and/ or able to support each other effectively.

I just need to remember that we're all doing the best that we can. And, to change what I can change, which is to try to be supportive for others and to shoot to have interactions with supportive people.

Thanks for all the posts! I did this thread because I see my T once every two weeks, and for some reason its been hard on me these past couple of months. But thanks to everyone sharing this journey with me!

I was a mess last time I saw my T. Worse than I have been in years. He was really worried about me and asked if I needed another emergency appointment. I am going to try to fight this on my own though. I am strong. I can do this.

So my next session one week from today and counting...........

I see my T on 12-12-12 at 12 pm (Ha!). I had to reschedule and I told him I really needed to see him and he ignored it (didn't even ask what was wrong).

Sometimes I think I need a new T.

Wow very interesting date and time! That is just a couple of days away!

I sometimes think I need a new T as well. He doesn't call me back when I really need to see him either and sometimes I feel he is ignoring me too. But, he is very very busy. I have stuck with him for six years and during that time he has been promoted with a huge office and a whole ton of new responsibilities as an administrator. He only keeps a few clients he sees on a regular basis, not at all like his old caseload.

Well, I am excited to see my T too. I got him a Christmas present this year! Its nothing fancy, just a nice pen in a box I think he would like. I also wrote my pdoc a Christmas card I am going to drop off.

I see them in 4 hours! Counting down! I am also gonna get dressed up and wear something nice and put on makeup. This is a historic day for me!
