Thinking of you! I know how very hard this is. I had my 4th pdoc appt yesterday, and STILL jumped every time the door was opened. I totally understand the anxiety, but I have confidence that you will manage to get through the appointment and that the p-doc will be able to help you.

Good luck pbutton!! I just had my first ever pdoc appointment yesterday, it was very uncomfortable as it felt so intrusive, but I am looking forward to finding meds that actually work with me! I was as honest as I could be with him, and he didn't take anything badly, I hope your pdoc acts the same way.
Thanks for this!

I REALLY liked this pdoc. He explained things very well and it felt like he understood what I was saying. My T picked a good one. I'll have to thank him tomorrow.

Thanks everyone for the support in my non-thread thread about this.

You're very welcome. I was so supportive that I didn't even respond, until now, just to say this.

Seriously, though, having a consult and getting information always puts you in a better position. It's good to know what your choices are and move forward in whatever way you want.
Thanks for this!

I have a much deeper connection with my PDOC than my T. My t doesn't think I need to be in the mental health system. Little does he know. I'm glad you had a good experience.

You are so brave, pbutton to keep facing your fears and gutting it out, doing the hard work it takes to get better. I admire you. You're one of the people on the board that I think about when I'm trying to face the next hard step to take toward being emotionally healthy.
Thanks for this!

Thank you. That means a lot to me. Especially on nights when I wonder if I am actually trying to get better or if I am somehow just driving myself even more insane than I was to begin with.

I really do not feel brave. I jumped so high that the other pdoc turned away from his approaching patient and looked at me. I am a weirdo.

You have anxiety. That does not make you a weirdo. That makes you an anxious person who is smart and brave enough to go get help when she needs it.
Thanks for this!
