I talked about my feelings when my T didn't email me about the birth of my granddaughter. Even though I had the urge to email her and tell her how I felt, I used DBT skills plus help from PC to stop me from acting on that urge. I used "opposite action" NOT to email, and also radical acceptance, distraction, and wise mind. I didn't manipulate T into responding to me. I also keep "turning my mind" to accept that she's NOT friends or family. My DBT T is happy with my progress! She asked if I feel stronger and I said I do.

Hi Rainbow,
Yay! I told you you were doing really good! I'm so happy she acknowledged how hard it was to be using the DBT skills rather than just following the impulse to e-mail. I'm glad you feel stronger too.
