I am, in fact, probably stricter than you about some things. Not as strict on others. A former friend and I were comparing notes one time, because she was peeved that I did not reprimand my kids for saying something "sucked." She did not allow her children to use that word. My response was, "but you allow them to call each other and you 'stupid,' and you let them to tell each other and you to shut up. I would never in a million years tolerate that level of disrespect." Come to think of it, that conversation may be a factor in why we are no longer friends.

Fun fact though, that conversation came up because her son told her to "shut up" in front of me and in my house, and I turned to him and said pretty sharply, "X, that is unacceptable. Apologize to your mother now." She was angry that I reprimanded him in front of her and I apologized and we discussed it. She mentioned to me recently when we saw each other in a store, that neither of her sons ever said 'shut up' to her after that day. [I consider that a "win" for me. ]

Thanks. Yeah I've already sort of done that but still stuck. Been doing nothing but sleeping, eating, and wasting time on the computer and watching tv....sadly usually can't even recall what I've watched. On the plus side, my cats have been enjoying all day naptimes with me lol

I knew I was a lawyer type person and no longer a 'normal' person when I witnessed a collision between a car and a pedestrian while I was in law school. This ditzy young woman stepped off the sidewalk, not in a crosswalk, and without looking, and stepped RIGHT in front a moving vehicle that was speeding and got hit. My first reaction was not, "oh no! That poor girl." Noooooooo, my first thought was, "oh, contributory negligence." [she was fine, by the way. I'm not a TOTALLY horrible person.]

It's pretty simple: monthly bills are greater than monthly income. By a lot. No matter how much we cut; we can't get it to break even.
