This can be where survivors search for mother and father figures. Transference issues in counseling can occur and this is normal for childhood abuse survivors.

NOTE TO FUTURE MEMBERS: Now that things have gotten started over at CBBT, the best way to join is to write me a PM. I'm concerned I might miss your request in this thread - sometimes there are so many threads in this forum I just MARK READ and start all over.

A few people have asked for INVITES and not responded to the INVITE. I believe the invites go to your INBOX for private messages, so check there. If you have any problems, don't hesitate to PM me. If you've just changed your mind, that's fine.

tried to request invite to join clients betrayed by therapists
Hi I'm new here but was told I could privately send a message to Syra requesting an invite to "clients betrayed by therapists". I'm not really interested in any other forums at this time and was hoping to bypass the necessity of posting 3 messages. Is this possible?

My story is that I am a survivor of therapy exploitation.
Although the psychologist I reported to the licensing board paid 6500 in fines, is under supervised probation, and is required therapy, I feel further betrayed by the "system" and need to better understand what happened to me, my feelings, etc.

Thanks for any suggestions,
Azadkiel

Rterroni - see syra's message above. Best to message her if you haven't already.

I've found survivingtherapy abuse to be a lifeline, but it has really helped me to talk about in the forum.

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
