My T wears black all the time. To the point that I am almost ready to ask if they own anything with color! I wonder if in all seriousness it is to not draw attention to themselves... But for me it has the opposite effect!

I have heard two ts say that wearing all black is a sign of depression
I wish my t would wear more. SHe always wears short dresses and high heels and sits with her legs open.

My T wears pretty skirts and dresses then the ugliest, most worn out shoes. Woman, get thyself to a DSW!

Some of my T's clothes I do not like. I perceive them as hostile.

That is odd to me to only wear all black all the time, unless one is working at a spa or salon or something. I guess I think it wouldn't be odd to ask, "Hey, T, why do you wear black all the time...any reason, or do you just like it?" My T dresses typical business dress: usually dress pants and a dressy top with heels or flats. I've never seen her wear a dress or skirt. She probably does tend to wear darker colors: blacks, browns, grays, but she doesn't wear all black all the time....

My T dresses very fashionably. I love it. Can't wait so see what she's wearing - clothes, shoes, jewelry

She is quite the contrast of me

I've heard the idea that Ts wear all black so as not to call attention to themselves. Maybe your T is colorblind and all black is a safe solution. Or she's just fashion inept like I am and figures, hey, black goes with black, right?

My T's style of dress isn't very remarkable. I actually like it when she wears jeans so I don't feel like so much of a scrub.

My female t's dress stylishly but tastefully, color coordinated, sort of fun and a little artistic looking I think. My male t's have usually dressed nicely but occasionally sloppy or unbusiness-like. One of them looked like he was dressed in a disco dancing costume once which was weird. It annoys me that male t's have thought it was appropriate to comment on my appearance, while female t's, who obviously put more work into their appearance than the men, are sensitive enough not bother me about my appearance. I put more work into my appearance than the men too.

I wonder if t's tend to put more work into their appearance than people in other professions since clients are likely to observe them closely, and since I think therapists tends to emphasize conformity a bit, or at least creativity within socially accepted boundaries.

I don't really notice what the therapist wears. I could not say whether she usually wears pants or skirts or dresses. I assume it is more business like than not. I don't think she wears jeans or sneakers.

My last T would wear comfortable, professional clothing, mostly neutral colors and usually pants and flats or sandals. Most of the time I didn't notice what she was wearing, which is probably a good thing, but I remember complimenting a blouse or shoes several times. My dietitian was always dressed to the nines and so I usually tried to somewhat dress up and look nice for my appointments. My current T is male, though I've only seen him three times or so. He just wears regular older man clothes, nothing that stand outs but certainly not stylish.

Mine is always immaculately dressed and wears high heels and all that jazz. Makes me feel like a hobo. I wish she was a jeans and t-shirt wearing kinda T! It would be so much easier for me to trust her. I get put off by smartly dressed women!

My T used to wear Earthy things; then she pointed out how I always wear black, and now she wears a black sweatsuit and brown slippers... I miss her colourful Earthy clothes.

My xT always dressed very well.

He wore trousers and dress shirts and sometimes a tie. As Winter approached, he would wear vests too, which really suited him. He was (is) quite a good-looking man, so he probably would have looked good regardless of what he wore

This thread is kinda making me laugh because last week, my T wore a sweater that my husband has! There's at least a 30-year difference between their ages and it just seemed SO weird that my young, hot husband (we're both in our early 20's) and my old T (who is at least 50) own the same article of clothing.

It was so distracting! All I could think was that my hubby looks way better in that sweater.

I have discused his dress code with my T- he wears black T shirts and blue jeans 90% of the time. I was wondering how many of the t-shirts did he have- cause they are the same.

I liked how my old T dressed. Usually dress trousers and blouse with a cardigan and heels. Smart but comfortable. My new T... omg she looks like her grandpa's wardrobe threw up all over her!

T's who wear black may be from New York, where everyone wears all black and they think you're weird if you don't.

My current T, compared to my other former T's, is less formal in his dress, sort of a professional lumberjack style, plain colored flannel shirts in winter and I don't know what in summer, can't recall, chinos, informal shoes. Everything looks old and well-loved.

My therapist wears a lot of earth tones, very subdued, but stylish. Usually long skirts, or slacks. I would really love to know what is behind her choice in her wardrobe, but questions like that are over the line.

My T wears a lot of black and grey. She often will wear an all black/grey outfit and then throw on a coloured scarf as if that somehow makes the outfit better. It's kind of amusing to me. Occasionally she will wear something with a bit more colour but I can only thing of three items of clothing that are coloured. Some of the other therapists at the practice I go to are more "fashionable" I guess but they too don't wear a lot of colour. I think it is just to keep the attention off them.

Some of us found Julie Andrews hotter than Bo Derek in the movie 10.
I don't really notice what anyone wears. This is not a therapist specific deficit for me.
