"Catch the Wind" by Donovan.
In the chilly hours and minutes of uncertainty I want to be in the warm hold of your loving mind. To feel you all around me And to take your hand along the sand Ah, but I may as well try and catch the wind. When sundown pales the sky I wanna hide a while behind your smile And everywhere I'd look your eyes I'd find. [It suggests what you want but also the limits too.] |

My T once was going to Bangkok for a wedding and I started trying to sing
![]() ![]() ![]() I guess the real one that gets me though are the words from Billy Joel's "And So It Goes": But if my silence made you leave Then that would be my worst mistake So I will share this room with you And you can have this heart to break And this is why my eyes are closed It's just as well for all I've seen And so it goes, and so it goes And you're the only one who knows So I would choose to be with you That's if the choice were mine to make But you can make decisions too And you can have this heart to break And so it goes, and so it goes And you're the only one who knows

![]() I'm a musician, but I just don't associate my T with music in any way, shape, or form. He is such a big, brawny, outdoorsy guy and he isn't much into music himself (certainly not to the degree I am). The only thing that comes to mind (and it is more an association with the office as opposed to him), is that they play classical music in the hallway that leads into all of the pdocs'/therapists individual offices. (I think they use it as a way to be sure conversations in the hallway don't distract session and that session conversations can't be overheard in the hallway, not that I've ever really worried about that.) I can hear it in his office while we are having session and it is distracting to me because about 90% of the time it is classical flute music that is playing and I am a flautist. I can't tell you how many times I've stopped in the middle of our conversation to say, "I've played that piece." I've even been brought to tears hearing certain pieces because there is a very strong association between playing the flute and one of my abusers. Again, that's really not about my T at all but more the office itself. |
