Oh yeah, I like it. It was number one on the R& B charts and the pop charts in 1968(I googled it to make sure I remembered the name).

The first record i bought was a .45 of Brandi(You're a fine Girl), by the Looking Glass. Anybody else remember their first record(or disc) purchase?

Hi couch friends,
Well made it through the date without crashing... but I am crashing now. Warmed the sheets up in the dryer so now when I climb in they will still be warm
Good night couch...

Yes the prom is structured and organized. One parent had all the couples (about 20 kids) come to their house. Then everyone took lots of pictures etc... The kids had organized to have limos take them to the prom. Everyone who attends the prom has to attend the "after prom" which is at a rec center... they have transportation to take them from prom to the after prom... The had to bring clothes that they want to change into at the "after prom" into school days ago because everyones bags are going to be "inspected".. The after prom goes till 2 in the morning and parents are picking up because its hard to have their cars there since its a "secret" location ...unless the parents drive over the car and leave it for their kids.

I didn't go to my prom either I went to the movies with a friend. I didn't have the money for all of that.

Was that John Fred or Gary Lewis? It was supposedly inspired by Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds.

Just teasing.

In Michigan, we build a fire too and call it a field party... I went to 2 proms, but not my senior one.

We just rode around in the country drinking beer, Ready. Throwing bottles at signs from a moving car and all that, listening to Waylon and Willie and the boys. We always went by this haunted house where we had to park by the road and walk thru a peach orchard to get to the house. And then someone would hear something and we would all race back to the car and try to leave someone.

Okay - you all are not going to believe this, but we gathered on the weekend, drank, and tried to guess which orchestra or soloist and/or piece/movement was being played.
Sometimes we acted out plays.
Thanks for this!

I'm reading War Trash, about a Chinese soldier in the Korean War. He is captured and held in an American POW camp. I'm 70 pages in and it's very good so far. An earlier novel won a National Book Award and the Penn/ Faulkner prize.

Ha Jin - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Judy was a hit with John Fred and the Playboys, also covered by Gary Lewis and the Playboys. Canteloupe Eyes, if that's a compliment, it is a strange one.

I'm trying to figure out how this was lola's first .45. Used? I think it is way before her time. Hell, it's alittle before my time. I was seven when it came out.
