I feel bad because I've only had two sessions and I'm already wanting to reschedule because I'm nervous and don't feel like going tomorrow. I'm tired of being so scared of everything. What about you? How often do you reschedule, if ever?

I have never rescheduled. I went even though I felt like I was going to pee my pants and dissociated in the waiting room.

Since I am working on facing anxiety disorders, I don't get to cancel for anything related to uncomfortable feelings or worry.

I have occasionally changed appointment dates due to a work conflict. But that's about it.

I don't usually reschedule as such - only a couple of times if the woman has something or I have a work thing. She only works a couple of days a week, so rescheduling is not that easy. I do cancel for a week and then go the following. When I first started, it was like every two weeks I would quit, then miss a week, then call and go back. Now I don't say I am quitting, I just cancel a week and then go back. I have a set day and time. Now I do it about every month to 6 weeks.
Progress really.
I have found for me, that giving myself the space to take a week away, works well to reduce anxiety. Then I can go back less anxious which is good for me.

I'm also dealing with anxiety issues, so I don't give myself permission to cancel for those reasons.

I will reschedule due to work or being out of town, and have had to do that several times. I try to reschedule for earlier or later in the day or that same week whenever possible.

I've only rescheduled due to work or vacations and known in plenty of time to coordinate with T on either a make-up session or agreeing to skip it all together. I go through phases of wanting to cancel for the typical angst/anxiety/nerves/discomfort but I never do because those same feelings will be there the next week and possibly compounded so might as well just go when I originally intended.

I've rescheduled an odd time to ask to bring an appointment forward if I've been struggling.. but I haven't cancelled or put an appointment off. I've been anxious to the point of having panic attacks and being sick when I've been afraid to go, but I think putting session off would have just prolonged the agony. I've found it is better to face the issue.. usually not as bad as I've feared, and then afterwards I've been able to relax.

Go tomorrow! You can do this!

I've only rescheduled for work, illness, or vacation. I usually have to reschedule once every 6 weeks or so (usually work). I rarely skip a session altogether; I usually just switch my time to another day that week. T also occasionally reschedules as well, usually for a conference, family situation, or vacation. I've never had the desire not to go to T for anxiety reasons. I'm on the other end of the spectrum; I have to fight the urge to ask for additional sessions. I would probably go to T several times a week if that we're an option.

I'm too boring for even my therapist. At least I think so. What if we have nothing to talk about.

This sounds completely backwards, but often when you don't have anything to talk about, is when the best therapy is done.

I never reschedule. I have a rule in my head that I can't.

My T allows two cancellations per year without charge so I don't want to waste that. I would prefer not to reschedule at all.

I find the best sessions are the ones where I go in without an agenda.

I think I have only rescheduled one time, it was because of a meeting that I needed to attend at work. There was one time when my T was considering rescheduling my time so a client that had been taking a break could come back ( at my time) but after a discussion she decided not to do that...she knew I was right
As far as wanting to reschedule due to my own anxiety or because I was projecting about a session; I have many, many times felt like " oh my God...I do not want to deal with this today" or I would be too embarrassed to talk about an issue that I had emailed to her, and emailing is a great ice breaker for me But once I am in the room, sitting on the comfy sofa I start to feel more relaxed as we begin a dialogue. I think what you are feeling is normal...just go with it and allow the process to happen good luck to you!

I've rescheduled a few times in 6 years and felt like it more, but early in therapy I told my therapist I wasn't sure I should come because I was so depressed, and she told me that she wants to see me no matter how I'm feeling. She also suggested that the times I don't feel like going can be the best sessions, and that has been true.

If you can, I would encourage you to go and share these feelings you're having about not going. It will help your T know you better.

The only time I've rescheduled is when I got in on a cancellation and my scheduled appointment would have been too soon.
