Does anyone else's T do this? Somehow catches your eye and tries to convey... something.. intimacy I guess? It freaks me the HELL out. He's done it twice and I recoil like he's trying to take a swing at me. Much more closeness than I can handle.

Something about it feels very embarassing to me. Like I'm caught seeking something that I shouldn't even want in the first place.

Oh I don't like this. I like to sit side by side but my T has started moving so he's looking at me.

From today:

Me: "Stop staring at me!"
T: "I'm not staring. I'm just being here."

He was so staring.

Whereas my T was quacking up as he started randomly talking about ducks at that point. It was very odd!

I totally know what look you are talking about.... xT could do it well.... it was painful...

good thing that current T doesn't even have a chance... she is for consultative purposes only...

I THINK I know. My T looks at me and I am looking at her. She keeps LOOKING until I look away. I don't know how she can keep looking at me like that. Sometimes I think I won't shift my gaze and look away, but I always do.

My T has perfected this look. It's amazing how someone can 'say' so much with just their eyes.

My T and I had a staring contest so I could develop eye contact. It was fun, but I know the difference in T's looks. T pours love out of her eyes at me when we're not playing.

Well, my t only got glasses a year ago, so I knew he was totally faking it all this time - I would say stuff like, do I have spinach in my teeth? And he would admit I was just a blur to him, close up and far away. Really not a good thing to say to someone with hygiene issues!! But usually he just looks like he's sucking his lunch out of his own teeth. I do think he started paying more attention to my eyes when I was wearing the pirate patch. And so did I. Use it before you lose it. Speaking of which, I wonder how Adel is doing.

I don't think I have ever had this happen. Which is good because it sounds extremely freaky. I rarely look directly at the woman unless I am angry at her. And then she looks away first.

It's funny that this thread was started, well...maybe not funny but it is ironic to me. I had my session this past Tuesday and towards the end of my session my T was staring into my eyes...pretty intense. So I did it back for what seemed like an eternity because it was rather uncomfortable...finally I couldn't do this anymore so I looked away, something I do often when in there. I'm wondering if this is the T's way of connecting on a deeper level with the client? Or perhaps trying to bring us to a new level of consciousness? I really don't know for sure...

Gosh yes!

It's a look that derails me. Acceptance, understanding, and intensity overload.

What I found totally horrible in my T session yesterday....I have really bad posture, and my T often brings it up and tries to get me to sit in a better position. Yesterday, he pulled out a full length mirror from his bathroom to SHOW me how I was sitting.

I always try to hide the idea of me being SEEN at all....and now he was SHOWING me ME! Totally, utterly horrifying...I took a quick glance and looked away - refusing to look again.

I feel sick. And it has nothing at all to do with seeing my posture.

Oh man, MUE. I think I'd run screaming from the room if my t did that.

T has that look, too, as did my previous t. And I just noticed today that my spine doctor does it, too. Unlike any other surgeon I've ever met, he makes almost continuous eye contact and really connects. It's almost impossible to look away - he's almost mesmerizing. I'm a little sad that my neck is much better because that means I won't see him until it goes wonky again.

My T does it while looking over the top of her glasses. Makes me feel like I'm lying about something!

Oh I feel so not the same about that look - I miss it SO much only working with t over the phone for the past 5 months. It was like she was holding me with that gaze, sometimes holding me together with that particular gaze, that look that said things that mere words can't..... I was doing my morning pages this morning and writing about how I long to be in the same room with t for a session again just so she can put me back together with that look. OMG. I miss her so much right now.

But I'll be ok. I'll just go dig out her picture.... LOL

a mirror!!!! WTF? No freakin way. That would be the last of him if he did that to me. Zonkers.

I was trying on jeans in the city yesterday, and I sat on the bench in the dressing room to pull on a pair and caught my reflection in the mirror. It was AWFUL. ICK. I can't get it out of my head. I really need to get back to the gym.

Now I am putting that reflection and what t sees together and.....AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

Yes! Oh my Gd, yes. Mine does this, too. He also used to say, "Can you look at me? I really need you to hear this." And I would sort of screw my eyeballs upward
