The Therapy Client Accessory Store has put in a few seasonal items

we have of course the ever popular journal, with the customizable holographic cover - tilt one way, you see your Mom's face; tilt the other way, your T's face

we also have some tattoos that say "I My Transference Mom" - uh, not tattoos, really, they're removable... ink transferences, if you'll pardon the expression...

help me look around here, there must be a few more...
Thanks for this!

Madame T won't be my mother this year. So I'll send something to my MIL instead.

I would like to give my "transference mother" a custom made bouquet for Mother's Day but will it be inappropriate?

I told her tonight she doesn't have to see me on Mothers Day: she gets her me-time. I'll ask my kid to hide my phone, iPad, laptop, and his stuff too. He may have to take away my car keys, because I once showed up by knocking on her door at night. My needs and wants are lessening. On Thursday, I'll also give her a standing up hug to wish her a Happy Mother's Day. I hear she is a wonderful mother in real life. I can also send good wishes to my own mother this year, and really mean it. No looking for that Hallmark card that least offends me.

The hologram cracks me up. Thanks for the laugh.

This is a cool thread.... but honestly, I struggle....my T is about 13 years younger than me so it is so confusing when the transference kicks in.:It really messes with me!! The child in me wants T to take care of me....she has actually told me it is her job to take care of me and keep me safe, and I like that. But the adult in me doesn't know what to do with that!! I struggle...just wish I could be more accepting of the child within me. Sorry for going on and on...but this came to mind while reading this thread.

Ack @ the hologram - I don't want an image of my t's face anywhere near an image of my mother's! On second thought, I bet even t's image would kick my mother's image's arse. Hmm now there's a Hallmark moment.
Thanks for this!

... so I gave her something that I would have given my own Mom if she was still around.

And split before she could open it

just in case she reacted the way my own Mom tended to react.

Have the feeling that hearing one is a 'transference mother' is not good.
surely it can't be a surprise as the transference is almost always negative.

If I could, she'd get the Mother's Day version of a lump of coal.

This sounds fantastically brave, SAWE. Now, to turn the brave up to 11, you just need to go back and talk with her about it
