When I first started T he lived in a box in my head labelled "Psychologist" then over time he became a person with a name and the edges of the box became blurred now he has exploded into an amorphous entity and I can't even see the box anymore. He has become this nebulous thing invading and disrupting all aspects of my life. How do I get him back into the box where I can manage him?

Madame T used to say I put everyone in boxes.

If someone outgrows their box, just put them in a bigger box with a new label. That's what I do.

But it can be traumatic to find out that I've had someone in the wrong box. I feel betrayed.

I don't know. I can't control my feelings for T either. Then again, I'm not sure I want to.

Be careful, t will become a mere human being like the rest of us.

Or did t open your box? (pandora)

I can relate to the OP. For me my hope is that as I grow more then I'll take up more of that space T occupies in my head and life.

It's not T out of the box. It's your feelings.
Thanks for this!

I think that if you stop trying to manage people, things settle down and your relationships improve. Like a lot.

This is what my therapist labeled as transference. She said I needed to go with it. In fact, I told her she should be paying me for all the space she takes up in my head. It does lesson over time. It is a circular process not linear. What you're experiencing is all normal, and yes at times very overwhelming. This is only my opinion.

I would try pointing a wand and shouting "Riddikulus"
and then put better locks on the box.
But that could be just me.
Thanks for this!
