Madame T was injured and went to hospital. I sent her a handwritten card wishing her "a speedy and comfortable recovery". I did not email her. Now read on...

I think that is a very nice email. Do you think she meant to type "going" or "doing".

That sounds nice and thoughtful. She clearly wanted you to know she received the card and sending the email was the best/easiest way for her to do so.

I'm being careful not to dissect her response. There is no hidden message here. She's thanking me for the card and that is all.
