Morning couch.

I went to take a shower last night and the knob to turn the water on wouldn't turn. Went online and submitted a service request. I'm hoping they get to it before I have to leave to go to C's. I don't like to think about someone entering my apartment when I am not here.

Mom still never called me last night. But at least I figured out when my grandma's birthday was on my own. Still just a little peeved that she hasn't responded.

I hope everyone has a good day.

It was a really hot/sticky night here last night. I hate sleeping in the heat like that. H needs to get the A/C's going.

Good morning, couch peeps....

Squirrel - I'm sorry your mom still hasn't called back, but I'm glad you figured out your grandma's birthday. It might be worthwhile to let your mom know that you're disappointed that she hasn't responded, so you don't have to hold onto the resentment you may be feeling.

Gotta get my daughter up and out to school....and then to an assignment. I am not looking forward to where the assignment is....pretty much one of the worst towns in this state, ugh. But I agreed to the assignment because it's work. And I'm not in a position right now to turn it down. I hope it's a quick assignment and nothing bad happens to me or my car along the way.

Hope everyone has a good Monday.

Ugh, wiki.....sleeping in heat is the worst, I think. I think each year, we've had issues where our a/c wasn't working and spent whole weekends without a/c during the hottest days of the summer. Last summer, it happened twice. Hate it! We kept the fans going and closed all the blinds, etc. I was thinking of investing in a window a/c unit or a portable a/c unit just to have on hand, but I didn't want to spend the money. Maybe when I get back on my feet, that'll be something I'll consider.

Banana and peanut butter chimi for breakfast....because everything tastes better with pb.

Wishing I could phone XT and talk about this "father" crap. And the death crap. And the preverbal memories. Just wishing I had a t today, but I don't, and I'll get over it. I want to climb back in bed, but I have floors to shine and dogs to walk.

However, I have actually lost control several times and just sobbed, and it has been my experience that after about 20 minutes or so, I stop, no matter how bad the sobbing was or how overwhelming the emotion was. Twenty minutes seems to be about the limit of what my body can withstand before I'm exhausted and just lying there kind of gasping or hiccuping. The storm passes and you don't die and it feels a little better not to have to keep those emotions crammed down and hidden and under control all the time. Good luck with this. These conversations are horribly embarrassing, but I found it helpful in the long run.

oh, Stopdog, I bought a pair of Keen sandals over the weekend. Comfy. Is it bad that I sat there in the shop thinking "oh, these are the ones stopdog wears so her toes aren't vulnerable"? lol. I need to get a REAL LIFE.

ACK! ACK ACK ACK! ACK!

Blech!

Ants won't cross a line of cinnamon. So, I find where they come in, and put a line of cinnamon in front of it. No ant killing, no bugs in my cabinet. Win, win.

I am working on my bacon flavoring. So far, I've used smoked paprika, real salt, coconut oil and maple syrup. Getting there, but missing something...any advice?

(no, I am not adding bacon)

Dang. I did it again. I have so many stereotypical lesbian traits, people are starting to wonder. I seriously need to take a class or something on how to act like a straight woman. (apparently the sex with a man thing isn't cutting it)

Oh...btw...my daughter left two of her female mannequin heads here this weekend, so I posed them face to face making out on my kitchen island. Was that lesbian-like too?

(actually, isn't that more "stereotypical straight male" stuff?)

One of my friends recently asked me if I was offended when women hit on me even though I'm married. [apparently it REALLY bothers her] I was like, you know, I would live in boots, jeans and flannel shirts, given my druthers. I don't wear make up or jewelry. I drive a truck. I have super short hair and I will have an argument in public about whether my chain saw is better than someone elses'. Somewhere along that continuum, I have lost the right to be crabby about it when someone thinks I might be bisexual.

ANTS! Ack! Sorry they found their way out of my house - but they left some behind to torture me. I only found one ant today so far - BUT, when I got home from my assignment (client never showed up - so I left after 45 minutes of waiting - get paid anyway tho), I got the mail - and it was COVERED in ANTS!! My entire mailbox filled with ants. YUCK!

I threw the mail onto the lawn - swatted all the ants that were on my hand and arm....then picked each piece of mail one by one to get rid of ants....went through my mail so I could put all the junk mail in the recycle bin outside....and then came inside, grabbed a can of ant killer and doused the mailbox with it. Eff cinnamon. I wanted those suckers DEAD. Sorry to all those who are against using bug killer, but damn, that was just nasty.

I hope I can meet the mailman before he puts more mail in there today. The last thing I want is mail covered in dead ants and Raid.

I think I just might hop back into the shower. I feel gross after all that.
