I agree. Not if it's gonna make you nuts or dead. My previous lady t finally got thru to me on this. She said my mother was her problem. She could provide her services. I think she could see from my stories that my mother wasn't going to let me help her anyway. Not really let me in. She was always pushing me away with one hand but grabbing me with the other. And kicking me in the butt. She's disappointed in me? Ha. I don't have to subject myself to that kind of disrespect, so she and my brother feel better about themselves and their decisions.

On a lighter note:

I perfected my "bacon" flavoring, and worked it out so well with a potato leek soup last night that when H and Son came home from work they thought I had actually cooked bacon. It was yummy. One of the flavors I miss the most!

(you know, they call Bacon the "gateway meat" because it is usually the first thing a vegetarian backslides with)

I found this incredible farmer's market near my niece's preschool that was selling these great organic leeks. They also had very pricey strawberries that niece talked me into getting. ($8/pint...YIKES)

Smoked paprika, liquid smoke (I know it has msg, but I didn't use much), pure maple syrup, sea salt and olive oil. I also had some smoked gouda cheese for them to put on top of their soups.

Yea, H and I settled here on the Cape, and my mother moved here a year later (into the house she owned as a summer home). Serves me right for moving near her summer home.

I just had a tortilla soup, which has a fairly strong tomato vibe to it, as well as heat and some beefiness. I love how the tortillas get different degrees of soggy.

Its the same kind of comfort I think

I know everyone talks about taste, and that obviously matters greatly, but there is something intensely satisfying about the right texture and mouth feel, for me, and meat can do that like nothing else.

I just talked to a guy who got ducklings for his kids for Easter and now they are not cute. LOL. I had left my name and number with the local feed store for just such a situation and I am getting three duckies!! So excited. I had a pet duck growing up. They are apparently getting into this guy's big in ground pool, though, so they are going to be bummed with the wading pool they are getting at my house.

The bacon flavoring is a huge deal...people here are all raving about this Bacon Vinaigrette on spinach salad. My daughter made some on Sunday, and I wanted it SO badly! So now I will have to make it for myself.

Are we talking about comfort food? I bought half a litre (which is about a pint) of Ben & Jerry's after T today and brought it with me home.
More than half of it is still there six hours later, so I'm not all bad. I suspect there won't be any left in a while, though.

YAY ducklings! Cool. We have a bunch of young mallards at the clinic, and next week I will bring them home and release them on my pond (which has a number of mallards already)

Maple...I don't miss meat texture (gag) at all. lol.

Hanksta...there is much to-do about how healthy it is. But it is good.

WOW! You have B & J in the Alps? I am blown away. That's amazing. Which flavor did you get? I used to like New York Super Fudge Chunk when I still ate dairy. Daughter loves their new Greek yogurts. H loves Cherry Garcia.
