I saw my T for about a year and stopped after recovering from my first psychotic episode 6 months ago.
I just got a phone call from the centre where T worked asking me to do a focus group for the council on young peoples experiences of MH services. T asked for me to come specifically, and she'll be there. Really not sure what to think. I'm not a massive therapy person but T helped me through a lot and I'm kind of excited to see her again, yet also nervous as I've slipped back into another episode and I don't want her to see me like this. I really don't know what to think, help!? |

I actually don't think it's appropriate for someone who's treated you to be there for the focus group. You need to be able to speak objectively without feeling inhibited.

Will T be sitting in on the focus group? If so, I agree with tinyrabbit. At the very least, it might be awkward for you to have T there. Plus, there is the issue of dual relationships. Already you are feeling nervous about this because of your current mental health status and not wanting T to observe this in you. This should not be part of a focus group. If you really want to participate, could you ask T to recuse herself from the group?
Are you getting help for your current psychotic episode? I hope you have the help and support you need.

It's more about all the services in London rather than T's company specifically. I have no problem speaking my mind in front of her anyway.
Yes I do get help now through a psychosis specific service rather than a T. |

It's probably a good time to see her, if you feel you are slipping.

I feel liek that wouldn't be appropriate.

But it's not an appropriate way to run a focus group really - the participants shouldn't know each other. You might feel fine about speaking up, but it could skew the results in general if they do that.
