1 was a douchebag who did nothing with me and i did nothing with her. she even encouraged me to talk about "anything" and she laughed at my problems. when i told her about ocd or my real problems, she laughed. i told her it wasn't okay, and she says i shouldn't be so sensitive. DOU-CHE-BAG.

My second psychologist was really good and she diagnosed with BPD but she left too soon because she went to another place. I only had 3 sessions with her but i think they were pretty good. she was really good intentioned and very sensitive. although i suspect when it came to diagnosing she wasn't that good.

My third psychologist was also very good-intentioned but she made me feel uncomfortable and I was also doing nothing with her so I stopped going without calling. That was mean.

I saw two therapists before meeting current T.

#1: A fat lady around 65, didn't really care about me or my ed, so she'd just tell me to eat. The result was me restricting even more, because I was terrified that if I ate I would become huge like her. No connection at all. I stayed for about 4 sessions.

#2: An arrogant son of a ****** around 45, who treated me as if my ed was my fault and spoke to me as if I was a retarded 5-year-old. He kept checking his watch every 5 minutes. Stayed for only one session.

My current T is the only one I got along with. I wouldn't label him as 'perfect' though.

I'm on my 7th therapist and all but two have been "the right one".
Maybe I'm easily satisfied.

1 who was trying to 'get down with the kids' (I was 18) too much. Then I tried another T and she just seemed to understand and care without being patronising.

oops I said 4-7 but now I've counted it is a bit more.
#1 was a Student Health counsellor at my first University, but I don't think I was really involved in the process mentally. Or not ready or something...
#2 was a psychiatrist who diagnosed me, correctly, but wanted to refer me to a group therapy which scared me off.
#3 a counsellor who tried things like screaming into a pillow which just felt silly, but was helpful to have to talk to.
#4 a counsellor who referred me to the same group therapy... which I must have been ready for, because I did it.
#5 the group therapist, who helped me deal with a lot of issues I wasn't aware of
#6 the psychiatrist involved in the group therapy who got me onto some very effective drugs, and really connected with me too.
#7 and 8 my case managers in the group therapy, one a clinical psychologist, and one a pyschotherapist. I still see one regularly.
#9, 10, 11 and 12, various interns, registrars and psychologists who were involved in the group therapy. Each helped in different ways.
#13 my psychiatrist who I am seeing for weekly sessions. Chosen for me by the people involved in the group therapy, which was a bit weird, knowing they discussed me like that. But we have slowly connected, and I think he was a good choice.

#1 Best ever, high school counselor, but only got to see her a few months in Freshman or Sophomore year year until school ended, then she changed jobs.
#2 Worst ever- she broke confidentiality, and I had been attracted to her also, she was a brand new therapist and inexperienced. Terrible. Saw her less than a year.
#3 Old school analyst, too detached, we never really connected, I ended it after 2 years.
#4 After a 15+ year gap, went back to therapy. Love my new therapist, which actually makes it hard, she's scary-good, haha. 5 months so far.

I think I counted 8. And I found my current therapist by chance, and never realized what I was even missing!

T1 told me after 1.5 years that I was not open and that someone else could use her time better.
T2 strange woman with an accent that gave me the giggles. I could not open up and it took her too long....so she referred me to t3
T3 was very good and took the time, only when I trusted her after years, she stopped working.
T4 I was "forced" by my (ex) girlfriend. Did not work.
T5 dropped me when I was in a closed section.
T6 was in a psychotherapeutic center where you slept at night (only I did not, I ran off and came back in the morning) For "punishment" I was not allowed to follow session but had to write a report to explain why I left. T was a psychiatrist a 'head' of the department I was not much in her sessions. After three months of little therapy and a lot writing i left.
T7 was fantastic but in a clinic where I was for nine weeks.
T8 I told about T6 and her expertise in trauma work and that her approach worked well for me ( I do not know why I said that? so often I had not spoken to her ) She invited t6 out for training....But she stayed and we got a new start....Even though we started 'bad' she is now the best thing that happened to me......Apparently we had a click...and after three years working individually I trust her finally....And can really work on my problems now.

Actually pretty bad now that I think about it.....I took a long time to trust. Always said 'I'm doing fine' was never open, never missed an appointment...but could not open up. T6 had times when she wanted to refer me to someone else but in the end she did not.
So I think she is the right one
