If you had to make a self care box what would you put in it? I need some ideas. We have to make one for group. Any help would be appreciated. TY

I would go with my senses? I'd have a nice smell, soap or perfume, maybe shampoo (the soap or shampoo to remind me how much I love having a hot shower, being "clean"), maybe a pillow case to remind me to change my bed, for clean sheets (or just my pillowcase; the good, clean smell does wonders for me); for me, a favorite book or two; maybe a CD with music I liked. I have some small items, costume jewelry, etc. from my childhood that hold happy memories. . . How about a chocolate bar, a special treat?

My self care box would have my favorite book, favorite movie on my ipad, my stuffed animal, my favorite music on my ipad (or whatever mobile device you have), pictures of things I love, candles, chocolate (LOTS of it), basically things I love.

i would appeal to the five senses... so i would make five sections (One for each sense) and then list the things that would be nice. for instance:

sight: watch a movie, look at pretty flowers, etc.
smell: light a candle, flowers, etc.
touch: take a warm bath, wrap up in a blanket, etc.
hear: listen to music, talk to someone on the phone, etc.
taste: eat chocolate, suck on a lollypop, etc.

Here's what I put in my "home" distraction box - My Purple Dreams: My Distraction Box

Like Miswimmy and Perna said, going to the five senses is helpful, too, and I have a "travel" box that goes with me pretty much everywhere that has a small soft fabric, pretty pictures and quotes, a yummy scented lip balm, some sweets, and a CD of favorite tunes on it. It's small enough (not much bigger than the CD actually) to carry in my purse.

I'd include a list of things I like about myself, or of things I have accomplished, good deeds. This is because when I'm down I seem to forget those things.

I like the idea of a self care box

I would include everything others have said, but would like to add that I would include some inspiring quotes and a "self-esteem list" of things I like about myself, compliments I've received, things I have achived, etc.
