BiP my mother figure would be Olivia Walton... did you watch the show Waltons... you might be too young or it wasn't shown where you live... it was on late 70s early 80s...

!. It is always easier to see the nail in someone else's head. And everyone has had a nail at some point or another. 2. Sometimes it takes awhile before a person is ready to remove the nail - even where it is causing known difficulties. 3. The guy's pain was his own to deal with. I don't think you need to protect others from you.

I loved the waltons. You're right Olivia walton is an ideal mother. I also liked Little house on the prairie. I remember reading or trying to read Michael landon biography and I couldn't do it as his mum sounded similar to mine.

I'm not that selfless... I'm protecting myself from other's frustration, exasperation and indifference...

All this mother talk makes me wonder.. If it were a competition my dad would lose all the way when it comes to parenting, but my mom wasn't really present either. But, for some reason when I think about the "figures" that I miss and want fulfilled in my life- it is always a male role model.. shh, don't tell my t that, lol! I am still spout I will trust no man ever train.

For what it is worth, I am not frustrated or exasperated with you. I don't think I am indifferent either - but it is not my life and I assume you are getting something from doing what you are doing and will stop when for you the benefit of changing outweighs not changing.

I do remember Lost in Space, vaguely remember the mother, but mostly i remember the robot. He would make a good mother, on par or better than mine. At least he warned of danger.

Healed... I think little girls need something from their fathers that we didn't get and it feels like it leaves a gaping hole that will never get filled... or atleast it does for me...

I think you are right.. H may be a crappy h sometimes, but boy am I glad he is a great father to our little girl. I remember watching them dance together one day, she was wearing princess dress and a crown, and he was signing.. and I thought, wow.. I am so glad she is getting this. It makes me sad that I didn't get it growing up, but that is one thing we are changing in our generation.. fathers being there!
