I am so tempted to put trigger icons on all my posts now, but realise that would be misleading and an abuse.

Why are you tempted to put a trigger icon on your posts? Did someone give you grief about not having a trigger icon on one?

There is a thread outside the couch where someone is giving someone else trigger icon grief.

Hi BPA, you're OK in my book. Take it easy on yourself.

Yes Ike but don't forget your helmet and bayonet when exiting the couch. And do so in a safe manner, head low...

Just a side note to say that I think the Acute Care Team at the hospital has been totally out of line by denying me anti-depressants. I wonder who I can complain to....

BPA...can you call and ask whoever answers the phone who can speak to about the issue? Hugs.

Ready... I always found those books unhelpful for myself, but if you don't have panic attacks then I would leave that part blank.

Artemis, I saw your post in the Dear T thread. I am so sorry for your loss. You are in my thoughts.

Artemis, I'm so very sorry for your loss. Please don't ever worry about bringing down the couch. The couch is here to share both joys and sorrows. And please reach out to your T.

(((Artemis))) So very sorry for your loss. Don't ever worry about bringing us down...we care about you.

Morning all...
Back to Boston today to see the wizard doc and tell him this insulin pump is CRAP. lol. I think I am going to switch to a pen. Would be nice if I could co-ordinate these city appts so they are all in one day. I am bringing a girlfriend with me for the ride...she doesn't know the city at all. I think I'll take her to Faneuil Hall for lunch.

Faneuil Hall is such a fun place. Enjoy!

I'm teaching my advisor's class for him this morning. It's too early. My brain doesn't function for at least another couple of hours.

((( Artemis )))

I'm off to the boy's for the weekend. Won't be on the couch much. He's taking a big written test for work this month and I told him I'd help by taking care of all the cooking and cleaning on the weekends. Personally I'd rather take the test for him. I love school-type things... but that wouldn't be right... so cooking and laundry it is!

Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Oh... and GO PACK GO.

BPA, if you have bipolar disorder, anti-depressants can be horrible for you. I have a client with BPD, and antidepressants flip him into a manic state really quickly. You should certainly discuss it with them, but they may have good and valid reasons not to prescribe them for you.

Smoking my first turkey this weekend. For awhile, I did not have a place to brine something that large without risking subsequent improper temperature food poisoning that seems to concern my partner a great deal. I point out I have not killed anyone yet, but she is insistent.

Question for the couch: Couch Poll

How would you react to telling your T a memory that you have that you find upsetting and then after he was nice and kind and tried to be helpful and you were finishing up and getting ready to leave and he asked "is it possible that it was a dream"?

Rts: punch him in the stomach and tell him that was just a dream. What is his effing problem?? Unless the memory included unicorns, I would say he is in denial himself and doesn't know how to handle it, or was experiencing extremely strong countertransference from you - that is, he was experiencing YOUR doubts that it may have been a dream. If you can be honest and say yes or no as to whether or not you were holding those doubts, then well he still should have held his tongue. Was this young t?
