Does anybody have experience with this? How was it? Has it helped you with your problems?

My T did this with me a few times, largely to try to reduce anxiety which was interferring with sessions. There was a time while dealing with traumatic memories when anxiety would make me physically ill, stomach cramps and dizziness, so the hypnosis was of a relaxation sort. It was effective in the short term, but didn't seem to have any long term effect.
Thanks for this!

I have done a version of it, hypnoanalysis. It also started as with progressive relaxation and an induction. Then we created a special place where I felt completely safe and at peace, where nothing could intrude, where I was in complete control. And I could invite anyone there, including my shrink. After it was over I was encouraged to draw the place and to use it as a place to go when things started to overwhelm me. It was helpful when there was traumatic material that needed an extra container. Now I don't really need that as much, but at the time it was useful.

My T is trained in hypnotherapy. We have tried it a couple of times, I found it to be a nice experience, very relaxing. It seemed to help for a week or so but then the effect faded.
My T is going to try to teach me self hypnosis, which I hope will be more useful as I will be able to do it more regulary myself. Hope I will be able to learn how to do it...
Thanks for this!
