Greetings!
I am wondering if anyone has experienced bioenergetics in their therapy and if so what was your experience?
Thanks!!

I have body psychotherapy which sounds very similar. Since my original problem stemmed from touch it makes sense to me to explore it this way. Some times I find it very weird, but ultimately I think it is helping.
Thanks for this!

Thanks for your response, Willow...I appreciate it. I was surprised that nobody else offered to share any knowledge or experiences about bioenergetics. Guess I will keep googling more 411 : ) have a nice day!

I always feel a bit of a freak on here as my therapy is quite different but it seems to be working for me. I think a lot of it still depends on the relationship rather than the mode generally. Have you tried it? Have you got an opportunity? Just curious

I've never heard of bioenergetics or body therapy either.

Hey,Willow
My T is encouraging me to try bioenergetics...it is supposed to help an individual get in touch with emotions through physical experiences. I tried a few exercises ; one was me laying supine over her Ottoman with my feet on the floor and my arms over my head...was physically uncomfortable and oddly enough caused some feelings of sadness to begin surfacing...tip of the iceberg mind you but it was a start..: )

I know strange isn't it? Never really done many exercises as she tends to do it via massage or breathing at the moment as I freak out a lot, but it never ceases to amaze me have a simple movement or touch can unlock some feelings. Like you say tip of the iceberg, but believe me you don't want stuff to overwhelm you. I've gone too fast before and it was a nightmare. Good luck with this. It sounds really interesting. Pm me if you fancy a chat.

I have done a couple of things with T around this. Helps when you can't name what your feeling so you name where in the body etc. or position yourself in a way that returns you to a state of memory, such as on the floor like a child etc.

I'm really interested in this but can't find anything anywhere near me that does it. Plus i'm not exactly clear on what " IT" is.

My t is also a body psychotherapist which uses touch and biodynamic massage alongside the talking therapy.
