Also new good news, I'm no longer bored. MIT publishes all course material online free. Audio lectures, syllabus, homework assignments, etc. Obviously you get no credit but you LEARN. So of course, I'm studying to be a T and I have a long break between semesters at my school so I'm learning Neuroscience and behavior.

I don't think 3D adds anything at all to the ability to tell a story.

I wonder if people said the same about color when it first came in?

Ugh, my mother who is usually so laid back about holidays, is being so damn difficult. If it wasn't for my nieces, I would be forgoing Christmas with my side of the family all together!

It depends, I do think that sometimes 3-D does make the film come to life more than 2-D does, while other times I think it's a bust.

For once, having a ginormous therapy hangover is doing me some good. In an attempt to not think about yesterday's session, I have been madly working through my to-do list.

I'm irrationally excited about one of my gifts for my best friend. I made hanging ornaments from sculpey clay with her dogs' paw prints on them. Her dogs were hilarious when I was making them. Her older dog was very obedient and pressed her foot right in it, but she had this look on her face like I'd lost my mind. The baby was a wriggly mess, but she let me handle her paw to make the print for her. She's young enough that she doesn't know what's normal and what's weird - she thinks everything humans do is awesome and funny.

And all my wrapping and baking are done. I just have to clean and pick up the last minute food stuff. If only getting emotionally ready for my family was as simple.

My name is wiki p
An i come to say
The one thing i cant stand
Is to wrap for a par-tay

the tape get on your fingers
The ribbon be in your hair
The dogs they take the wrapping paper
An tear it up everywhere unh unh

The glue on the little price stickers
Is toxic beyond belief - POISON!
Nail polish remover will remove them
Oh when will i get relief?

(Sorry couldnt resist! - its a rap about wrapping...)

ha ha ha...

EXACTLY what Hank said!!!

I can't get the gifts perfect. That's my whole issue. Don't ya know everything has to be perfect? Or the world will explode and my cherished loved ones will hate me.

(and yea, the dogs are always grabbing the paper)

To me its the stress of making sure all the price stickers are off. The family takes it very hard if i accidentally leave one on. Theyre very strict freudians so there are no accidents! They can suck it now...

Eta - the 2 lines about the dogs are my favorite! Unh unh! (Thats rap grunting)

In the opposite of tradition, I took down my Christmas tree today. I live in an apartment and it's just me, and I am not in any way in the Christmas spirit. And my cat this year has decided that he wants to eat the plastic tree. So I have been worried about him getting sick and getting infuriatingly mad with him each time he's gone in to the three.

So I said eff it, and took it down.

Thanks. I try every year to like Christmas. I like the tree normally. And I try sooooo much to prevent the sadness and it never bloody well works. I don't know why I even bother!

Morning couch.

First day of my break and I wake up at 6am and cannot get back to sleep. I tired for over an hour, then gave up and decided to get out of bed and onto PC.

Wiki, I hate wrapping too...that's why I tend to use gift bags. Much easier for me, no folding paper, no tape, no sticking on ribbon or bows...stuff like that. Sure you have to use tissue paper in a gift bag, but I can handle that.

Panda, sorry your cat was eating your tree. I also live alone, so I never bothered to put up a tree. Since I graduated from college and have been on my own, I have yet to put up a Christmas tree. I don't see the point when it is just me and I almost never have anyone over.

Yeah... for me... a tree and watching Christmas specials are really the only parts about Christmas that I enjoy, so I go through the effort of having a tree for myself.
