I told my therapist in my last session how disgusting i feel all the time. We talked a bit about where that comes from and she asked me if i could draw something or write something that explores that feeling and see what comes up and bring it in next session ( i do art therapy). But my session is tomorrow and i got nothing, nada. I've been thinking about how to visually portray that feeling of disgust and i just come to a blank. Anyone got any ideas? Words i could use, imagery....? Help!

I'm trying to think about it if it were me who had this assignment….
What colors remind you of this disgust? * for me, greens, grays, and orange spots, kind of like mold What textures remind you of this disgust? * I think of slick slimy sticky surfaces Do you smell, see, or hear this disgust first? * I would notice smell first Where in your body do you feel disgust * for me, in my gut, my abdomen I guess I would just keep asking myself questions like this then see what materials would mimic these qualities (silicone mimics oozy sliminess etc" |

I don't really know why, i just always have felt that way.
unclean public toilets disgust me. vomit, i can't deal with. the smell of parmesan cheese- ewww

My image for my own disgust with myself:
A pencil scribble. Just plain scribbles. Frustration is mixed in very strongly with my disgust!

ps it could be tactile, not visual. or a sound.
I am reminded of haunted houses as a kid where ordinary peeled grapes and noodles felt like guts and eyeballs. |

A shed snake skin. The feeling of wanting to peel off my skin to get away from myself. A bit of a claustrophobic feeling, too, because I couldn't get outside of my skin.

For me it would be a rotten egg or potato. I was born good but wasn't loved or nurtured or given any opportunities for growth so I eventually rotted.

I've been doing some art to deal with my feelings. For me, I've found it helpful to try to turn off my intellectual/analyzing side (easier said than done) and draw with just my emotional/feeling side. I use chalk pastels and let myself instinctually go with colors that match how I feel. My drawings have been abstract and I have found they help me to release the emotion sometimes. I like doing it

I never ended up doing a piece of art for today, i got no sleep last night and just felt sick all day. But i am going to do it this week to take in next week, i haven't any ideas yet but i'll probably use some from here.
