Are there ways for a T to find out you've been googling them? Like certain websites that would tell them details about who searched for their name?

I don't think so and honestly I would hope not since I think it would be too much of a personal invasion, which is why they have never created anything on Facebook that allows you to see who viewed your profile.

Not unless your T is a hacker extraordinaire. Google can't track your name, as far as I know, only your IP address, so even if your T could somehow find out the IP address of computers that searched for their name on Google, they would then need to match those IP addresses with the names of the actual people who own those computers, which is a rather complex task.

I wouldn't worry about it.

If they are into analytics they can see what type of computer or phone, what location, what time, what browser connected to their website. I think you can get an IP address too. Only nosey geeks with nothing else to do would examine each user.

Google has search tools that are right on the google search page to the right where you can enter a search term for a date or range and see how the page ranks but that tells you nothing about users.

If they have a premium linkedin account they can see every linkedin member that visits their profile. I don't have for precisely that reason. I don't care and it could be kind of creepy.

if you have a LinkedIn account, and you view her LinkedIn profile, it will show you viewed it. kinda freaked me out once because I looked at my T's LinkedIn profile once and only realized after she looked at MINE because it showed me that she had viewed it. She never did bring it up, but it freaked me out a bit.

I thought you need a premium account? I get notices that "4 people looked at my profile" but if I click on it it wants me to upgrade. I don't know why anyone with a professional relationship would care. That's what it is there for. It's creepy for ex boyfriends or whatever.

There is a website called statcounter and some things it tracks are...

- where you came from (Country/City/Location in that city)
- your IP address
- where you came from before you hit their site (what site you were at right before)
- how long you viewed the page
- how many times you've visited
- what browser you are using

I used to use this to track visitors to my blog. You can't use it on Facebook, but if you have a blog, then you can put this on and if you choose, it can be INVISIBLE.

If you don't have Linked-in, does your visitor info come up if you search someone who is on the site?

I think that when I looked at my last Therapist's LinkedIn page I was not signed in, I actually deleted my LinkedIn page some time ago because I wasn't using it at all.

You can also use incognito mode in chrome. I personally don't think it's necessary but if you are concerned...
