I've done some (extensive!) research and found three who look like they might be good. None of them specialize in all of my issues and none of their offices are super close, but of the 600 or so that I browsed (no joke), these three look like my best options. Two of them offer free 30 minute in person consults to determine fit, and the other one I can email to ask her if she would be willing to do that. Is it a good idea to "interview" all three and then take some time to decide a) if I want to start seeing another T at all and b) which one I feel the most comfortable with?

Also, questions to ask during the consult? I know I want to ask about out of session contact, but what else is important?

Maybe I'm not the right person to give you advice because I just tried the T i was referred to from my first T (who I hadn't clicked with as she felt judgemental and was never on my side) and I was really lucky. I see how difficult it can be to find a good match, so I'd say, definitely meet all of them unless you decide you really like the first or the second you see. I would mention the current T face to face with them as they might be willing to talk about it for a while but that's just my opinion - and I think the email is ok.

About the skills, maybe go for those who seem to have what you need first, but just in case you aren't sure about any of them, don't hesitate to see someone else if something about them inspires you (don't know, photo, short presentation on website etc..). I'm saying this because my T is very young and doesn't specialize in ed and my other issue yet and I was skeptical. But I'm healing and I only want her with me in this journey now, because she understands me like no one else while the previous skilled, very experienced T was a nightmare to me.

Sorry for my English and... good luck, let us know how it goes

They got back to me ridiculously quickly. I have one consult booked for tomorrow and one booked for Monday. I am so ridiculously nervous.

Yes, definitely see all of them to compare. And some questions to ask would be what their techniques are, what they feel is most important in therapy, whether they've had their own therapy, and what their treatment plan for you might consist of.

Think really hard about what you want from therapy. What type of therapist, what sort of outside contact, how they would respond to A,B,C.. what training they have, etc

Basically draw up a wish list, no matter how unlikely you think things are to ask for and try and find a therapist that matches as many things on the list as possible. I think you'll just know on a gut level when you find the right one.
